Two English Officer's Hangers
Late 18th Century

The first with curved fullered blade double-edged at the point, 'slotted' iron hilt with spirally-grooved outer edges and fluted knuckle-guard, lion-head pommel formed in the round, and chequered spirally-grooved green-stained ivory grip bound with silver ribbon; the second of similar form, the hilt of waved bars with fluted knuckle-guard, gadrooned globular pommel with button, and spirally-grooved ivory grip (binding missing) with notched decoration along each side (both pitted overall) (2)
