Carved after the delightful Rococo designs published by Meissonnier, Francois de Cuvillies and the Italian designs of Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the arched plate divided by entwining vines of spider web like delicacy flanked by small shelves, the edges resembling melting icicles, intended to display rare porcelain figures, over a pair of scrolled candlearms.
