E. Kahn, Ltd, a noted fine furniture manufacturer and retailer was located at 6 St. Andrews Street, Holborn, and opened a New York showroom in 1884. The firm were known for the finest reproductions of formal Louis XV furniture. As noted in Christopher Payne's book, page 128, Linke allowed this firm to publish an illustration of his Grand Bureau in their catalog.
On June 28, 1919 the peace treaty formally ending World War I was signed by Clemenceau, Lloyd-George, and Wilson for the Allies, Drs. Muller and Bell for Germany, in the Hall of Mirrors on the bureau plat Charles Cressent (1685-1756) made for Louis XV.
