A Napoleon III gilt bronze and porcelain plaque mounted ebonized and burl wood meuble d'appui
fourth quarter 19th century
The gilt foliate banded marble top with outset corners over a guilloche and flowerhead banded frieze and a gilt foliate banded door centering a porcelain plaque depicting a shyly courting Shepherd and Shepherdess seated in a sunny meadow with their flock at rest, all bordered by quarter panels of floral garlands flanked by canted stiles mounted with espagnolettes and acanthus scrolls.
