The realistically finely carved ivory bat suspended from a later snake-link necklace, lengths: pendant 4.4cm, chain 40.1cm, fitted case by the Tadema Gallery (partially illustrated)

Purchased by the vendor in the early 2000s from the Tadema Gallery, who attributed the pendant to Philippe Wolfers (1858-1929) Belgium. Circa 1900. Their literature reference Cf: Philippe & Marcel Wolfers, De l'Art Nouveau a l'Art Deco catalogue numbers 2 & 9.
