Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. (1880-1964) was a noted architect, collector and President of the Royal Academy (1954-1956). He was an avid promoter of 18th century Georgian taste. For almost fifty years following his death, the proposed girandoles were preserved in the saloon of Richardson's home amongst the neoclassical interiors that reflected the interests and idiosyncrasies of this distinguished collector.
