silk compound twill, woven in pastel shades of pink, yellow, blue and green, comprising a banded design of vertical lines of blue cartouches alternating with poppies and irises, within a floral border, framed
65 x 56 cm.

A handwritten ink inscription erroneously attributing the textile to Gujerat to the reverse of the frame reads, "Patka border, Ahmedabad, mid-18th cent. from Gazdar Collection of Antique Works of Art, Prince of Wales Museum, Bombay sale, 1967."
