Egypt, early 14th Century

of pear shaped form on a splayed foot with flaring neck, the shoulder surmounted by a raised ring, profusely engraved with decoration, the body with a large band of inscription interspersed by roundels containing wheels of inscription around central flowerheads, all on a ground of scrolling vegetal interlace, below an undulating vine with suspended palmette motifs, the neck with a floral vine interspersed by roundels containing flowerheads, above and below a zig-zag design of stylised palmettes, the foot and raised ring with cable design
