Arabic manuscript on paper, 231 leaves, 17 lines to the page written in clear naskhi script in black ink with diacritics in red and black, gold roundels decorated with blue dots and red central stars, inner margins ruled in blue and gold, catchwords in wide outer margins, sura headings written in thuluth script in red on illuminated or gold panels, one illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold, slightly rubbed, corners rather thumbed, creased, later floral lacquer binding, outer borders with prayers to the Prophet Muhammad, His family and the Twelve Imams, doublures decorated with narcissi on a black ground, spine repaired, numerous birth inscriptions and seal impressions
212 x 137 mm.

Footnotes

The colophon states that this was the third the scribe has copied. He is not otherwise recorded.

There are two seal impressions, one of a certain Ahmad dated AH 1270/AD 1853-54 (square), and one of Samsam Humayun dated AH 1316/AD 1898-99 (oval), who is unidentified, but must have been a Qajar official with the title Samsam Humayun.
