An illuminated Qur'an copied by Muhammad Reza bin Muhammad Taqi al-Tabrizi, better known as Miskin al-Qalandar
India, dated 12th Jumada al-Awwal 1163/19th April 1750

Arabic manuscript on gold-sprinkled paper, 247 leaves, 15 lines to the page written in elegant naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in red and black, small illuminated rosettes decorated with blue dots between verses, inner margins ruled in gold, catchwords, illuminated devices including the words hizb, juz and nisf, sura headings written in elegant thuluth script in white incorporated within illuminated rectangular panels, one illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold preceded by two elaborate central medallions in gold, some worming crudely repaired otherwise in good condition, brown leather gilt, worn, doublures and flyleaves of marbled paper
