An ink and wash drawing by William Beilby in the Victoria and Albert Museum features an identical figure of a shepherd. This drawing is signed 'Beilby Delint. 1774 No.5001' and is illustrated by Simon Cottle, William Beilby and the Art of Glass, in The Glass Circle Journal no.9 (2001), p.38, pl.9. A similar glass with a related scene of a shepherd playing a flute was in the Henry Fox Collection sold in these rooms 8 November 2004, lot 95
