The silver body applied with four shibuichi fan-shaped cartouches, each enclosing a different seasonal flower of plum, bamboo, chrysanthemum and wild orchid, symbols associated with the Chinese flower-painting theme of shikunshi (The Four Gentlemen), decorated in katakiribori and iroe-takazogan, each cartouche signed respectively with chiselled characters Katsunobu, Nobuo, Fuminobu and Chishinsai, with wood storage box and stand. 24.8cm (9¾in) high.
