Finely painted in enamels and gilt, the interior with numerous overlapping panels of various shapes, decorated with assorted genre scenes including kacho-ga, sailing boats, landscapes, the 'Seven Gods of Good Fortune' and ikebana displays, the exterior with two continuous horizontal bands, the upper section with a procession of children engaged in various pursuits, the lower section with an extensive view over a lake and thatched dwellings on the shore, between formal borders of geometric and floral motifs, signed Kozan sei. 11cm (4¼in) diam.
