All finely painted in enamels and gilt, the first consisting of a rectangular box and cover, inset with two lobed panels depicting two different outdoor figural scenes, bordered by fruiting vine, the reticulated cover decorated with overlapping square brocade, signed Ryozan with the Yasuda Company trade mark and Satsuma mon, 10.5cm (4 1/8in) high; the second a pair of ovoid vases, each inset with three panels enclosing scenes of women and childern engaged in different pursuits, the shoulder with overlappping fan cartouches with repeat motifs of trailing wisteria, irises, a daimyo gyoretsu (Daimyo procession) and a fisherman by the banks of a river, both signed with the Yasuda Company trade mark; 12.7cm (5in) high.
