A pair of gold lacquer boxes and covers

Attributed to Ikko, Showa Period
The covers of both boxes decorated in gold takamakie and dense mura-nashiji with a pair of cranes in flight, the interiors of red lacquer, unsigned, 8.5cm x 21.5cm x 23cm (7 3/8in x 8½in x 9in); the integral square tray unadorned except for sparse nashiji to the interior and sides, unsigned, 3.5cm x 27.8cm x 27.8cm ( 1 3/8in x 11in x 11in); with wood storage box titled Sokaku makie nidanju (two-tier stackable boxes with paired crane design) and signed Ikko saku with seal Ikko. (6).
