The first of copper, of oval form, with a shakudo mimi bearing a hammered ground and inlaid with shakudo and coloured enamel medallions of takaramono and formal designs, unsigned, 7.6cm (3in); the second of iron, carved in takabori and inlaid in Hirata style with a butterfly and irises in coloured enamel and gilt-metal, unsigned, 8.2cm (3¼in); the third of iron and sentoku, with a central lozenge within a mokko rim, carved with breaking waves, unsigned, 7.6cm (3in); the fourth of brass, carved, pierced and inlaid with Kinko on the carp, unsigned, 6.4cm (2½in). (4).
