A shinto wakizashi blade

By Kanetsune, 16th/17th century
Of slender shinogizukuri form, with medium sugu-ba of nie and nioi, mokume-hada, the ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, signed Esshu Suruga no ju Kanetsune; in shirazaya with sayagaki by Dr Sato Kanzan attributing the blade to Kanetsune; with fabric bag.
The blade 46.6cm (18 3/8in) long. (3).

Footnotes

Accompanied by a certificate from the Juho Token Kenkyukai attributing the blade to Kanetsune.
