The blade by Mihara Masachika, 18th century
The blade of slender elegant shinogizukuri form, with narrow sugu-ba of nie and itame-hada, the ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, signed Mihara no ju Kai Masachika; koshirae; black lacquer saya; with associated fittings, the iron Mito tsuba inlaid with flying cranes, the shakudo nanako kozuka inlaid with gilt maruniyotsuwaribishi mon; the fuchi-gashira inlaid with gold oxen; with fabric bag.
The blade 43.5cm (17 1/8in) long. (2).
