A Mihara School katana

Muromachi Period, 14th century
The slender blade of shinogizukuri form, medium sugu-ba of nie and nioi, itame-hada, the o-suriage nakago with two mekugi-ana (one partially cut off), unsigned;
koshirae: the saya of roiro-nuri with kirimon and kikumon in gold hiramakie; associated fittings, the iron tsuba of mokko form, carved with bamboo and irises; the iron fuchi-gashira lacquered with landscapes; the shakudo and gilt metal menuki of mounted warriors; with fabric bag and certificate.
The blade 70.5cm (27¾in) long. (3).
