Attributed to Hirotsugu, Meiji Period, late 19th century
The blade of shinogizukuri form, very broad gunome-ha of nioi with nie, indistinct hada, the ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, unsigned; koshirae: the saya of black ishime lacquer; associated fittings, the Tenbo iron tsuba of mokko form; the silver fuchi-gashira with shishi and peonies in relief; the gilt-metal and shakudo menuki of kiku blooms and foliage; with fabric bag.
The blade 73cm (28¾in) long. (3).

Accompanied by a Juho Token Kenkyukai certificate attributing the blade to Hirotsugu of Tokyo, made in the Meiji era using iron from the West.
