Of lenticular form, bearing a rich nashiji ground, lacquered with a continuous scene of an osprey with a captured crane on undulating ground, beside a stream, two small birds flying away on the reverse, in gold takamakie with highlights of e-nashiji and kirigane, the interior of nashiji, signed Kogan, with ivory ojime, carved with a bat and pine branch. 8.5cm (3 3/8in).
