Decorated over a roiro-kinpun ground in gold and iroe hiramakie with a bird perched on a bamboo fence with a butterfly, shown on the reverse, hovering close to a spider chrysanthemum plant, with a band of Rinpa-style waves sweeping from the back to front, the interior of red lacquer with fundame shoulders and risers; signed in gold lacquer Komin saku. 7.4cm (2 7/8in).
