Supported on four pointed feet lacquered in okibirame, the fundame ground decorated in gold and silver takamakie and hiramakie with a design of chrysanthemum bushes overhanging a meandering stream, the banks of which are bordered with a stylized brocade of sumikirikaku ni hanabishi mon, with details highlighted in nashiji, kirikane, keuchi and aogai, the risers with chidori (plovers) in flight against a dark silver-toned ground, signed in raised gold lacquer Yoyusai. 10.7cm (4¼in) high.
