A Polar Star pin for service

circa 1914
the five-point silver, gold and enamel (untested) star centred with a shield and draped with a ribbon, the hinged suspension formed as an Imperial crown, the reverse inscribed in Cyrillic: 'Polar Star', apparently unmarked,
height: 4.1cm (1 5/8in).

Footnotes

In 1914, the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna requested that officers completing five campaigns aboard the Polar Star be awarded the pin for service.
