A belle epoqué sapphire, diamond and enamel choker, Lucien Gautrait, Léon Gariod, French, circa 1900
designed as a series of oval openwork foliate plaques, decorated with white enamel, each centering an oval-cut sapphire, measuring approximately 9.00 x 6.50 x 4.00mm., within a table-cut diamond surround, spaced by similarly designed square and oval links; signed L. Gautrait; with makers mark for Léon Gariod, with French assay mark; mounted in eighteen karat gold; length: 13 1/2in.
