A New Land Pattern flintlock Light Dragoon pistol dated 1805

Round 9 inch barrel; .65 caliber smoothbore; marked on left side of breech with two poorly struck ordnance marks and a crown over 9 on tang. Flat lockplate with no border; reinforced cock with sprig engraved to match lock tang; marked Tower on tang and in center with crown over GR cypher and small ordnance mark; small flurry engraved on bridle. Standard brass New Land Pattern furniture; triggerguard bow marked inside with small crown over -5. Steel swivel ramrod marked near tip with a crown. Walnut stock; marked on grip with ustorekeeper's mark dated 1805 as well as two small crown over 9 stamps, initals TC stamped deeply behind sideplate along with crown over P.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock have been cleaned, but now retain a grey patina with scattered dark areas; barrel and lock with scattered dark spots, some wear to barrel markings, and a few light scattered marks from use; lock markings crisp. Brass furniture with mellow patina, some dark areas and light marks from use. Stock probably refinished, excellent markings, scattered light storage marks.
