An early New Land Pattern flintlock Light Dragoon pistol

Round 9 inch barrel; .66 caliber smoothbore; marked on left side of breech with two small ordnance marks, small crown stamped on center, and with a crown over 12 on right side. Flat lockplate with no border; reinforced cock; marked Tower on tang and in center with crown over GR cypher and small ordnance mark; sprig engraved on bridle. Standard brass New Land Pattern furniture; triggerguard bow marked inside with small crown. Steel swivel ramrod marked new tip with a crown. Walnut stock, carving around barrel tang; marked on grip with storekeeper's mark dated 1800 and large broad arrow over BO, two small crowns over 15 near triggerguard tang.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock have been cleaned and now retain a light grey patina; crisp markings. Barrel with some scattered dark spots. Brass furniture with mellow patina, some dark spots and scattered marks from use. Stock possibly retaining original finish, scattered dents and marks from use, Large 1 1/2 inch chip missing under lockplate, chip on right side above buttcap, and piece of wood missing on left side between nosecap and barrel key; two hairline cracks at ramrod entry point.
