A regimentally marked New Land Pattern flintlock light dragoon pistol

Round 9 inch barrel; .66 caliber smoothbore; marked on left side of breech with two ordnance marks and with a crown over 39 on tang. Flat lockplate with no border; reinforced cock; marked Tower on tang and in center with crown over GR cypher and small ordnance mark; sprig engraved at tang and bridle. Standard brass New Land Pattern furniture; triggerguard bow marked inside with small crown and incribed outside DY/NYC/23. Steel swivel ramrod marked new tip with a crown over 19. Walnut stock with dark finish, carving around barrel tang; marked on grip with storekeeper's mark dated 1800.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock have been cleaned and now retain a grey patina with scattered dark spots; barrel with scattered light pitting, some wear to markings, and a few light scattered marks from use. Brass furniture with mellow patina, some dark spots and scattered marks from use. Stock possibly retaining original dark finish, shows crazing and age, scattered dents and marks from use, some deep dents and scratches.
