A Pattern 1796 Heavy Dragoon flintlock pistol

Round 9 inch, .77 caliber smoothbore barrel; marked with two ordnance proofs slightly left of center of breech, a small crown in center and small crown above touch hole. Rounded lockplate with double line border; marked Tower on tang and with crown over cypher in center, along with small ordnance mark under pan. Brass furniture including entry thimble, light dragoon style sideplate, and triggerguard. Walnut stock with panels around lock and sideplate. Storekeeper's mark dated 1800 and two crown over 8 markings on grip; */TP marked on stock vertically behind sideplate. Steel ramrod.
Condition: Excellent. Barrel and lock were cleaned at some time, now with grey patina and scattered dark spots and a few areas of light pitting; action strong. Brass furniture polished. Stock refinished; series of dents and scratches on butt and spine of grip, other light scattered marks from use.
