A rare 1796 Pattern heavy dragoon pistol with Nock's patent screwless lock

The 9 inch round .78 caliber barrel showing faint Ordnance marks at breech. Lock marked with Crown and GR cipher, crown and broad arrow ordnance mark and with H. Nock at the tail. Brass triggerguard with green-painted inventory (?) number 243. Full walnut stock showing faint traces of storekeeper's marking at upper right of wrist, the fore-end channeled for a ramrod and fitted with single brass thimble. Brass-tipped ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal with dark patina and areas of light pitting. Lock markings very clear. Stock with scattered dents and bruises and chipping around barrel pin.
