A post-1777 Tower Light Dragoon pistol dated 1786

Round 9 inch, .65 caliber smoothbore barrel with centered ordnance marks at breech, initials DB on left side of breech, crown stamp on tang, and crown over 9 stamped forward of touch hole; engraved letters C/N-P on top of barrel. Rounded lockplate with double lines, two screws showing behing cock, and marked Tower on tang and engraved crown and cypher in center with small crown over arrow stamp. Standard brass light dragoon furniture; triggerguard bow stamped with small crown inside and engraved rack number C/1 on outside. Walnut stock with relief carving around barrel tang; marked with storekeeper's mark dated 1786 and crown over 9 on right side of grip; later broad arrow over BO stamped into stock behind sideplate, along with smaller D. Replaced brass-tipped ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock have been cleaned at some time, but still have very crisp markings. Cock repaired and reinforcement post and top jaw possible replacements. Brass with mellowing patina. Stock refished; some scattered dents and marks from use; hairline crack from lock tang about 1 inch in length.
