A post-1777 Tower Light Dragoon pistol

Round 9 inch .66 caliber smoothbore barrel; marked with two ordnance marks on top of breech and C/N-P, along with small crown on tang and crown over forward of touch-hole. Rounded lockplate with double line border; marked Tower at tang and engraved with crown over GR cypher in center, along with small crown over broad arrow mark beneath pan. Standard brass light dragoon furniture; triggerguard bow marked on outside with rack number C/1 and stamped with small crown inside. Walnut stock with relief beaver tail around barrel tang; storekeeper's mark on right side with date 1786 along with a crown over 9 on right side of grip. Letters TH stamped into stock, upside down, behind sideplate. Wooden brass tipped ramrod, probably replaced.
Condition: Excellent. Barrel and lockplate have been cleaned, now retaining grey patina with scattered dark spots; very deep markings, except for letters engraved on barrel. Cock repaired, replaced reinforcent post, top jaw, and top jaw screw. Brass polished, now mellowing, with some marks from use. Stock good with 1/2 inch hairline crack at lock tang, 1 inch by 1/2 inch piece of wood replaced on left side of fore-end around pin; hairline cracks along forend. Scattered marks from use; refinished. Ramrod too short and with incorrect tip.
