A late Land Pattern Heavy Dragoon flintlock pistol

Round 12 inch barrel; .70 caliber smoothbore; ordnance markings near breech in center of barrel. Rounded lockplate with two-line border and two screws behind cock. Lock tang marked Tower; crown and GR cypher in center of lockplate along with crown over a broad arrow. Brass furniture and replaced brass-tipped ramrod. Walnut stock with relief carving around barrel tang and 1786 storekeeper's mark on grip above lock tang.
Condition: Very good. Barrel pitted overall and cleaned; ordnance markings clear; steel components have been cleaned. Lock with light grey patina and areas of light pitting; strong action and deep markings. Brass with mellow patina; showing marks from use. Triggerguard tang broken at screw. Refinished stock showing scattered marks from use, with losses above lockplate tang, some chipping around pins, a few deep marks on relief carving behind barrel tang.
