A composite Land Pattern heavy dragoon flintlock pistol by Farmer, dated 1747

The 12 inch tapered round barrel in .70 caliber smoothbore; top of breech with interpretation of two ordnance markings, the side with several indecipherable marks. Rounded banana-shaped lockplate marked with ordnance mark, crown and GR cipher and at the tail Farmer1747. Brass furniture of standard heavy dragoon pattern. Full walnut stock with relief panels around lock, sideplate, and barrel tang. Brass-tipped ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Well aged overall. Grey metal with areas of light pitting with some heavier pitting on barrel breech and scattered dark spots; incorrect barrel markings. Top jaw and screw replaced. Stock with scattered marks and minor chipping and with some black areas around carving and in low areas. When disassembled, moat components show very few signs of age.
