A Hanoverian rifled percussion pistol by Ernst August Stoermer
Herzberg, circa 1835-50

Octagonal 10 1/2 inch brown Damascus barrel in .48 caliber. Silver-banded patent breech with London view marks. Scroll-engraved tang with adjustable rear sight. Scroll-engraved back action lock fitted with swivel safety and signed E.A. Stormer(sic)/Herzberg. Set trigger. Engraved spur triggerguard with pineapple finial. Walnut half-stock with checkered grip and flat butt with scroll-engraved inset.
Condition: Very good. Rebrowned barrel showing good Damascus pattern with a few patches of lightpitting. Lock and patina with smooth grey metal. Stock with minor marks and long neatly replaced pieces to either side at upper edge of fore-end.
