An English percussion pepperbox pistol by John Jackson
Nottingham, mid-19th century

The 4 inch fluted barrel cluster in .40 caliber. Scroll and border-engraved German silver frame marked on the left side Jackson/Nottingham. Finely checkered walnut grip with vacant silver wrist escutcheon. Engraved steel buttcap with cap reservoir.
Condition: Good to very good. Barrel with dark age patina showing areas of fairly heavy pitting. Other steel parts with dark brown patina. Action with dark patina. Sound grip showing scattered bruises.
