About his method as artist Garry Knox Bennett has stated: "I love challenge and will intentionally try to set up situations that keep pushing me forward. I enjoy taking one element and letting it re-emerge in subsequent pieces until I feel that all of my issues with the essential elements selected have been resolved."
Garry's work is represented in many private collections as well as the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts; the Mint Museum of Art+Design, NC; Museum of Art and Design, NY (formerly the American Craft Museum); San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Smithsonian American Art Museum; Victoria & Albert Museum, London. In 2011 Garry received the James Renwick Alliance Master of the Medium award in Washington DC.
