An iron three pounder gun with attribution to the Siege of Yorktown

The 43 inch black-painted iron tube with 2 1/2" bore, three stepped moldings and spherical cascabel. Mounted on an old naval or garrison style carriage with no provision for trunnion straps and set with metal tag bearing the number 2227.
Condition: Tube showing considerable pitting, the carriage showing wear and numerous marks but sound.
