An ivory and silver-mounted Sinhalese piha-kaetta
19th century

The heavy 7 inch blade with fuller inlaid with engraved brass panels, the sides and spine of the blade inlaid with brass geometric motifs. Silver and elephant ivory grip of characteristic form.
Condition: Blade with dark patina and areas of light pitting. Hilt with minor marks.
