A Tuareg sword, takuba
19th century

Broad, straight 34 inch double edged blade with rudimentary fuller above the hilt. Cruciform iron hilt, the rectangular guard with brass reinforcements on either side; faceted tubular steel grip with integral pommel.
Condition: Mottled grey metal showing wear and areas of pitting; pommel badly dented.
