A lot of two Indian tulwars
18th/early 19th century

Comprising: 1) 18th century example, curved 31 inch blade with broad, shallow fuller; iron hilt molded with banding, broad languets with molded finial, downcurving quillons with lotus finials; large pommel in the form of a lotus pod. 2) Another, curved 30 inch blade, one side incised above the hilt with maker's cartouche and inscription; iron hilt of simple form with short, robust quillons; quillon block fitted with brass coins as rivet washers, one dated 1883; bowl-shaped pommel, the tip of the exposed tang pierced.
Condition: Both showing wear; the first with areas of pitting to blade and dark, mottled patina to hilt.
