Footnotes
Knight of Saint Michael, a four-masted steel ship was built in 1883 by W.B. Thompson, Glasgow. She had principal dimensions of: LOA: 294'- 7", Beam: 42 - 2" and a gross tonnage of 2,278. She was launched at the shipyard of W.B. Thompson, Glasgow, for R.L. Greenshields, Cowie & Co., Liverpool in February of 1883, then in March 1897 she was sold to Ant. Dom. Bordes et fils, Dunkerque, and was renamed Pacifique. In 1907 she collided with the same owner's fourmast barque Rhône off the Falkland Islands during an exchange of articles. The Rôhne repaird the damaged bowsprit in Valparaiso, and the Pacifique continued her voyage to Pisagua. Both masters lost their ships on account of the accident. In 1916 she was sold to Gaillard & Co., Bayonne, and was renamed Pazifique, then on October 21st 1916 she left Penarth for Port Arthur, TX, and disappeared en route.
