Richard's Chronosphere Clock
France, early 20th century

[signed] Richard's Chronosphere in an oval cartouche with Patent 19460, the 6-in. globe made up of twelve lithographed gores, with countries, principal cities, Russia is depicted as the "Russian Empire", the North Pacific, major topographic features and steamer routes and other details. Supported on a clockwork driven rotating polar shaft, on a turned support, fitted for the Roman hour scale annotated Meridian ring, and an upturned arm supporting a brass lunar sphere, the top finial with curved hour pointer, on a drum shaped plinth base containing a French made eight-day movement stamped "Made in France". With fitted carrying box.
