the Terrestrial: [inscribed] in cartouche: "A New American 13 inch TERRESTRIAL GLOBE. Exhibiting with the greatest possible Accuracy the POSITIONS of the PRINCIPAL KNOWN PLACES of the EARTH: with the Tracks of various Circumnavigators together with a New Discoveries and Political Alterations down to the Present PERIOD: 1825". Signed at the bottom of the inscription "J. Wilson & Sons Albany St., N.Y.", and made up of 12 hand-colored engraved gores with ecliptics; mounted within a brass meridian ring, brass hour arrow, on a wooden horizon band with lithographed Signs of the Zodiac supported by four baluster turned legs with a cross stretcher.
The celestial: [inscribed] "A New American Celestial Globe. Containing the Positions of nearly 5000 Stars, Clusters, Nebula &c. Carefully compiled & laid down from the latest and most accurate astonomical tables reduced to the present time./J. Wilson & Sons/1931". Made up of 12 hand-colored engraved gores with ecliptics; mounted within a brass meridian ring, on a wooden horizon band with lithographed Signs of the Zodiac supported by four baluster turned legs with a cross stretcher.
