MODEL OF FOTON M2 SATELLITE.
Metal and plastic, on stained wood base with plaque. The satellite 5 inches long, approximately 7 inches high.
The Foton M2 was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on May 31, 2005, and carried a scientific payload on behalf of the European Space Agency. The design of the satellite was based on the much earlier Vostok and included a re-entry capsule to bring experiments and samples back to Earth.
