2 volumes. 8vo (207 x 123 mm). 347; 372 pp. Period tree sheep, red morocco lettering- and numbering-pieces. Moderate browning and some foxing, light rubbing to extremities.
Provenance: P. Houstoun (ownership signature to titles, partially erased from vol 1).

FIRST EDITION. Silliman was engaged by Yale University on a trip to Europe with the purpose of procuring books for their library as well as "philosophical and chemical apparatus."
