Autograph Letter Signed ("Zane"), 8 pp, recto only, 4to, Flower Point, Tahiti, June 18, [1933], to Dolly Grey, on green lined paper, folding creases, little wear around edges and corners.

A substantial letter from a precarious period in Grey's life. Grey writes his wife about financial troubles and the difficulties of leaving Tahiti; the distress of his companion Wanda Williams ("she has given me to understand that she will quit me upon our return home"); changes to the stories "Knights of the Range" and "Pecos Smith, Texan"; work on a new novel about "Arizona, simple, elemental - the terrific truth of what the pioneer endured" which "progresses in a way to make me vastly hopeful"; business; the doings of their children; etc.
