SPENSER, EDMUND. The Faerie Queene. Chelsea: Printed at the Ashendene Press, 1923.
Folio. Printed in black, red, and blue. Original quarter calf over vellum, spine gilt-lettered, deckle edges preserved. A little soiling to vellum and couple of spots to deckle edges, light wear to joints with upper joint just started.
Provenance: Michael Ernest Sadler [1861-1943], father of Michael Sadleir, the novelist and book collector (bookplate).

ONE OF 180 COPIES; with interesting, presumably original provenance. The handmade paper, by Batchelor, employs a Knight in Armor waternark. Hornby 32.
