WARHOL, ANDY. 1928-1987.

Andy Warhol's Children's Book. Zurich: Bruno Bischofberger, 1983.
12mo. Original illustrated cloth-backed boards. Some light scratching and rubbing to covers.

FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED, "TO HALSTON / ANDY" on the front cover. Iconic American fashion designer Halston [1932-1990] was a close friend of Warhol's, as well as his neighbor on Montauk, Long Island. The two were originally introduced by Halston's boyfriend, VICTOR HUGO, a member of Warhol's inner circle as well as his frequent model and collaborator. (Hugo worked with Warhol on the "Sex Parts" and "Torso" paintings, among other projects.) The present lot includes a mixed-media illustration by Hugo, approximately 317 x 190 mm, of a high-heel shoe, signed and dated "75"; 2 Warhol monographs signed by Hugo (as himself and as "Andy Warhol"); and six additional volumes on Warhol.
