Folio (314 x 206 mm). 115 pp. Woodcut initial and tailpiece. Engraved allegorical frontispiece, and 5 large folding engraved plates. Period speckled calf, raised bands, gilt in compartments. Cockling to leaves, small tear to fold at inner margin of 3 plates just touching image, tear to inner margin of Vatican delegation plate extending approx 40 mm into image, very pale old dampstain to final plate.

MAGNIFICENTLY ILLUSTRATED FÊTE BOOK CELEBRATING THE NUPITALS OF PHILIP V OF SPAIN AND ELIZABETH FARNESE AT PARMA CATHEDRAL. First edition. The largest of the plates [892 x 617 mm] shows the entry into Parma of the hundreds-strong Vatican delegation of Cardinal Gozzadini, Bishop of Imola. The four others depict the decorated exterior of the cathedral; the decorated interior, with draperies and allegorical emblems; the wedding ceremony; and an architectural plan of the cathedral.
